Get ready for some venting. Bear with me. I need this today.

I left Portugal 46 days ago and I still have a few days on the road ahead of me. The past weeks have been amazing. During weekdays we mostly stay home working but during the evenings and weekends we get to explore different spots and countries.

So far, I’ve been to 32 cities and I’ve seen it all: sunny days, rainy afternoons, freezing cities and, today, a snow storm. In fact, as I’m writing this I still can’t feel my feet. I spent two hours trying to dig the car out of the snow with the help of a small broom and it’s safe to say that I won’t be moving to a snowy city anytime soon.

When I saw the car under many centimetres of snow I realised it was up to me, and only me, to get it out of there. So I got to work: I went to the supermarket and got myself a broom, thick gloves and some extra socks. I knew I was going to get myself into knee-deep snow so I wanted to have a plan for afterwards. Then, I started cleaning.

I was able to take most of the snow with the broom and my hands (so happy I had my new gloves). I also had 2 bottles of water which did nothing actually. As I mentioned above, it took me 2 hours from the time I got to the car until I was able to drive away. I’m not going to lie, there were times when I felt like giving up. The problem was I had checked out of the hotel and really had nowhere to go. Also, the car couldn’t stay there forever. So, it was a busy morning but I ended up surviving it.

The funny thing is, I had my boyfriend with me for the entirety of this trip — except for these 2 days when he had things to attend to in Portugal. Of course the snow storm had to come when I was by myself.

In classic Murphy Law, I then arrived at the airport to pick him up and his flight got delayed by more than three hours. So here I am: at the airport, working from a lousy chair, still cold and with a huge migraine.

Would I change anything? Absolutely. Does this make me want to go back to Portugal earlier and just enjoy the Portuguese weather? Nope. I’m happy I’m here and experiencing these things.

Sure, today was hard. But tomorrow is going to be so much better. I’m lucky to have the chance to travel the world while working at a company that allows me to live my dream life while I keep working hard. All while my team sends me tips on how to get rid of the snow and helps me at a distance!

Now, it’s time to get in the car and head to Germany. Tschüss, bis bald!
