Life in Hossegor has been good lately.
We’re only staying here for a week and our days are spent mostly working.
In the mornings, we wake up bright and early and head to the beach for some surf. While he surfs, I read Intermezzo by Sally Rooney and take in the sun.
We head back home around 9:30, well in time for work since most of our team is in Portugal. On the radio some random French music is always playing. We have meetings; we work on documents, finish tasks.
One of us cooks lunch, just like we did back home. Afterwards, we check if there’s still time for a quick Power Nap. We love those. Then, back to work.
Sometimes we drive to a cafe (Drip Coffee Club if anyone’s interested) and work from there. They have the best cookies and chai. People around us are also working. Everyone looks cool here. They have that surfer/ skater Nordic look. Everyone is super nice as well, greeting us when we walk by, saying “bonjour” and smiling.
Then, it’s time to head back home or go for a late afternoon surf. Life is slow around here; I love it. There’s time for sports, beach, work and eating well. No distractions but so much to take in at the same time.
Our first stop has been great. We were very lucky with the weather. Now, it’s on to the next one: Nice, we’re heading there!
